Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant III assists a middle school or continuation high school Principal or an administrator of a department in carrying out his or her functional responsibilities and relieves him or her of administrative detail. The Administrative Assistant III initiates action on behalf of the administrator within established guidelines. The Administrative Assistant III ensures that office operations run efficiently.

Requirements / Qualifications

Job-related education necessary to perform the essential job duties is typically consistent with graduation from high school or equivalent. Three years of increasingly responsible clerical and secretarial experience involving record keepingand frequent contact with the public is required. Office management experience is preferred.

The competitive basis for this recruitment is Open/Promotional - Dual Certification. Candidates who pass all exams are placed on an eligibility list in order of overall exam score. The list is used to fill current and future vacancies for six months.
Examination process: Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications participate in an examination process. Exam components may consist of a multiple choice test (weight: 20%) performance test (weight: 30%) and a Qualifications Appraisal Interview (weight: 50%).
