This role works closely with patients providers and referring offices to ensure referrals are accurately processed documented and communicated while providing professional and patient-centered ResponsibilitiesReceive review and process incoming and outgoing referral information and authorization requirements as required by insurance plans or referring with patients referring physician offices and internal departments regarding referral status requirements and referral information for accuracy and completeness and obtain missing documentation or required signatures as referral activity authorizations and related communications accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).Assist patients with insurance-related questions and referral requirements and provide clear instructions regarding next with medical and administrative staff to resolve referral barriers delays or complex referrals from initiation to completion and follow up as needed to help ensure timely completion and continuity of patient patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA OSHA and MMC policies and other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the department and & ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent required.1 year of healthcare or administrative experience experience with referrals insurance verification prior authorizations or medical scheduling working with electronic medical records (EMR) and insurance processes & CompetenciesStrong communication and customer service skills when working with patients providers and insurance of insurance processes referrals authorizations and medical with EMR systems and standard computer attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple referrals and prioritize time-sensitive professionalism confidentiality and effective teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced Conditions Work is primarily performed in a clinical office setting and involves frequent telephone and in-person communication with patients and role involves continuous engagement and interaction with others and may involve occasional or frequent work environment reflects typical conditions found in a medical practice including exposure to standard clinical equipment patient interactions and administrative is potential exposure to common medical practice conditions including communicable diseases bodily fluids and chemical demands include walking bending reaching lifting up to 20 pounds stooping assisting patients and prolonged periods of position may also involve occasional stress due to multiple responsibilities and competing This job description outlines the general nature and responsibilities of the role and is not an exhaustive list of duties or requirements.
