Minimum Education
- Associates degree in Nursing required
Required Licenses
- Current RN registration in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- AHA ACLS
Minimum Work Experience
- Previous experience in management and / or leadership role
- Three - four years acute care experience preferred

Functional Demands
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction) and handles (seizing holding grasping turning or working with hands).
Essential Functions
- Responds immediately to critical events
- Provides leadership and follow up during critical events such as code blue code red and code 100.
- Provides appropriate follow up (i.e. staff education documentation family / staff support etc.)
- Adjusts staffing levels to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Evaluates staffing needs continuously and adjusts as necessary to meet the needs of the patient for the current and next shifts.
- Functions as a clinical and administrative resource for the nursing staff.
- Functions as a clinical and administrative resource for the nursing staff.
- Provides clinical consultation advice and education.
- Assists staff with problems.
- Completes all employee performance evaluations by evaluation due dates.
- Assists staff with conflict resolution (i.e. staff / physician patient / physician staff / staff).
- Mediates conflict.
- Reports and communicates situation appropriately.
- Advocates for patients families and staff.
- Intervenes on patient / staff behalf.
- Supports patients rights.
- Supports other departments to meet patient needs.
- Maintains operations of other departments during non-operating hours.
- Functions as an administrative resource for other departments during non-operative hours.
