Job Requirements Minimum Education Associate s degree in Nursing required Required Licenses Current RN registration in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts AHA ACLS Minimum Work Experience Previous experience in management and / or leadership role Three - four years acute care experience preferred Required Skills Leadership attributes and decision-making skills Functional Demands Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction) and handles (seizing holding grasping turning or working with hands). Essential Functions Responds immediately to critical events Provides leadership and follow up during critical events such as code blue code red and code 100. Provides appropriate follow up (i.e. staff education documentation family / staff support etc.) Adjusts staffing levels to ensure the highest level of patient care. Evaluates staffing needs continuously and adjusts as necessary to meet the needs of the patient for the current and next shifts. Functions as a clinical and administrative resource for the nursing staff. Functions as a clinical and administrative resource for the nursing staff. Provides clinical consultation advice and education. Assists staff with problems. Completes all employee performance evaluations by evaluation due dates. Assists staff with conflict resolution (i.e. staff / physician patient / physician staff / staff). Mediates conflict. Reports and communicates situation appropriately. Advocates for patients families and staff. Intervenes on patient / staff behalf. Supports patients rights. Supports other departments to meet patient needs. Maintains operations of other departments during non-operating hours. Functions as an administrative resource for other departments during non-operative hours.
