Job Summary

  • Provides administrative and operational support to the Editorial Manager (EM) and Editorial team.

  • Coordinate with Editorial Manager on communications to team

  • Assists with assigning and tracking tasks for Journalists and Content Proofreaders.

  • Reviews and proofreads publications and correspondence for accuracy grammar formatting and adherence to style guidelines.

  • Use Google Drive Asana and Slack to prepare organize and maintain editorial materials and records.

  • Assists with reviewing and generating graphics in Canva for publication materials.

  • Ensures publications and projects meet quality standards specifications and production deadlines.

  • Reviews drafts before being assigned to Editorial Manager for review.

  • Coordinate with other department leadership as requested by EM. 

  • Other duties as assigned by EM.

 


Qualifications :

  • Available to volunteer 10 hours per week.

  • Strong organizational administrative and time management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong proofreading writing and editing abilities.

  • Proficient with Asana Slack Adobe Acrobat Google Drive (or similar software)

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Previous administrative editorial or office support experience preferred.

  • Bachelors degree in English Journalism Communications or related field preferred.

  • Prior experience supporting editorial publishing or communications teams is a plus.

  • Must be available during EST hours.
