Job description

Alvernia University is currently seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach Sport Psychology. This course examines psychological factors that influence sport and exercise participation and performance including motivation confidence attention stress group dynamics and the psychological aspects of injury and recovery. Students apply evidence-based concepts and strategies to support performance well-being and positive participation in sport and physical activity.

Responsibilities

Adjunct faculty are expected to teach the course prepare course materials assess student learning be available to meet with students outside of regularly scheduled class time and provide support and guidance for students.

Job Highlights

Required qualifications include a minimum of a masters degree in Sport Psychology Kinesiology Exercise Science Psychology or a closely related field with graduate coursework or professional expertise in sport psychology.

Preference will be given to candidates who have previous college-level teaching experience and experience applying sport psychology principles in athletic exercise or performance settings.
