Job Summary

The Department of Economics Accounting and Business at Converse University is seeking adjunct instructors for Fall 2026 to teach two these courses. The fall semester runs from Aug. 12-Dec. 4 (includes final exams).

The use of Excel in teaching courses is highly valued. We seek instructors who are able to deliver in-person instruction. However we will also consider candidates interested in online and/or asynchronous teaching formats.

ACC 211 Accounting Principles I: 3 credits. This study of the basic techniques of financial accounting emphasizes the processes of recording classifying summarizing and interpreting business transactions. Topics covered include balance sheet and income statement preparation with an emphasis on the asset side of the balance sheet and related income statement accounts. (Currently scheduled at MWF 1:30-2:20 pm.)

ACC 380 Accounting Information Systems: 4 credits. Study of business information systems for future business professionals. This course is intended to lay a foundation for providing accounting user support information technology and problem solving. Students are exposed to a variety of information technologies and methods of analysis of business processes. Advantages and disadvantages of the different technologies are highlighted and discussed. (Prereq: ACC 211). (Currently scheduled for TuTh 2:30-3:45 with a 4th hour of online content.)

Candidates should possess a Masters degree in Accountancy or in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration from an accredited institution of higher learning and a CPA or other relevant certification or extensive work experience in accounting. Experience teaching at university level is preferred.
