Job Summary

Job Description Summary
The Adjunct Dental Assisting Instructor provides instruction in classroom laboratory simulation and/or clinical settings within the Dental Assisting Program. The instructor is responsible for facilitating student learning evaluating student competency promoting a safe learning environment and supporting the programs mission while maintaining compliance with CODA accreditation standards institutional policies OSHA regulations and infection control guidelines.

Duties
1. Teach or assist with all levels of courses within the Dental Assisting curriculum. This includes lectures labs and clinics. 2. Prepare instructional materials that support course and program learning outcomes. 3. Supervise and evaluate student knowledge technical skills and clinical competencies. 4. Provide timely feedback and be available for remediation in labs and all dental assisting courses. 5. Collaborate with departmental personnel in curriculum revisions/updates which reflect changing trends information and technologies and ensure compliance with the Standards of the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association the Department of Community Colleges approved standards for the curriculum and the Criteria of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. 6. Abide by OSHA regulations and policies ensuring a safe learning environment. 7. Abide by college principals and standards.

Minimum Requirements
1. Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program. 2. Clinical experience in general dentistry or a dental specialty. 3. Experience teaching and evaluating psychomotor skills. 4. Current CDA certification by DANB . 5. Current certification in Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Associate or Bachelors degree. 2. Experience using learning management systems (Moodle Canvas Blackboard etc.). 3. Experience in CODA -accredited dental assisting education.
