Building Sciences Fall Adjunct Faculty Position

The School of Architecture and Design (SoAD) is currently seeking a part-time adjunct instructor for the 2026 fall semester to teach an in-person course for the Bachelor of Science in Building Sciences program on campus in Boston.

BSCI4000 Building Performance Analysis:

This course introduces advanced digital tools for the simulation prediction and analysis of building components whole buildings and urban explore the relationship between Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Building Energy Modeling (BEM) offering insights into BIM-to-BEM workflows interoperability and contemporary modeling challenges. Through a combination of lectures demonstrations case studies and group projects students gain an understanding of how integrated digital tools can inform energy-conscious design strategies from early conceptual stages through detailed design development.

This 4-credit course is scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 9:45 AM. The fall term classes begin on Sept. 8 and end on December 8th followed by the review and exam period.

Comprising approximately 940 undergraduate and 100 graduate students the SoAD has robust international study opportunities at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

About the Building Sciences Program:

Wentworths Bachelor of Science in Building Sciences leverages the long history of success in the fields of architecture and construction management. Students begin their first year immersed in the architectural studio gaining design thinking experience including design methodology representation and communication the second year students continue in architecture studio and add coursework in pragmatic construction means methods and building systems the third year students apply their design skills to construction management and Building Sciences specific courses. And finally in their fourth year students expand their degree with electives or optional concentrations in Sustainable Construction or Energy and Sustainability. Education Required:

  • Masters degree.

  • Amasters degree in architecture environmental design ora relatedfield.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior university-level teaching experience

  • Flexibility in teaching approach to address diverse student needs and interests

Position Details:

At this time the university is unable to sponsor applicants for H-1B visas.

Adjunct faculty compensation varies based on instructional mode (lecture or lab) number of course credits and program. The minimum adjunct rate is $1365 per credit.
