Job Summary
The course prepares undergraduate Art Education majors to become effective PK12 art teachers and the instructor both teaches the methods coursework and supervises candidates during their clinical placement. Topics covered include curriculum and lesson planning instructional methods classroom management assessment studio practice and the development of a professional teaching portfolio. Supervision responsibilities include observing candidates as they teach in PK12 classrooms conducting individual conferences and coordinating with cooperating teachers and placement sites.
