Job Summary

The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at Albright College invites applications for Adjunct Faculty/Course Facilitators to teach graduate-level Education courses in a 7.5-week fully online asynchronous format. Appointments may be made as Adjunct Faculty or Course Facilitators based on course needs and the instructional model. SPS serves adult learners through flexible career-relevant programs designed to support academic and professional success.

Applicants should identify their areas of specialization in their application materials. Areas of particular interest include Literacy Reading Special Education and AI in Education. Applicants with expertise in other graduate Education areas are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging graduate-level Education courses in an asynchronous online environment using a course blueprint model
  • Provide timely substantive feedback on student work
  • Connect course concepts to current practices research and challenges in educational settings
  • Support critical thinking applied learning and professional skill development
  • Maintain an active and consistent instructional presence
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for adult learners

Qualifications

  • Appropriate professional certification in the applicants area of specialization
  • Masters degree in Education or a closely related field required; earned doctorate preferred
  • Professional experience in the applicants area of specialization
  • Experience teaching in K-12 higher education or other relevant educational settings
  • Experience teaching in online accelerated asynchronous formats preferred
    • Familiarity with D2L Brightspace is preferred
  • Comfort using experiential and applied learning strategies within a pre-designed course
  • Strong communication feedback and student engagement skills
