Job Summary
Overview
A faculty member with the rank of instructor or above is responsible to teach in the lecture and/or laboratory setting for the Pathologists Assistant (PathA) program. Adjuncts are assigned to provide instruction in a portion of the curriculum for which they has suitable training and experience.
Responsibilities
The following outlines the basic responsibilities of this position. Other duties are to be assigned as necessary.
- Prepare and deliver lectures or laboratory lessons on assigned topics
- Participate in assessment of student performance through appropriate examination methods) as assigned
- Promote an appropriate atmosphere for student education and be responsive to students needs
- Serve on TOUROCOM committees as assigned: Provide reports budgetary information and other documents) as requested by department chairs) directors and deans
- Advise and mentor students
- Participate in pathologists assistant student admissions interviews
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Masters Degree required
- Doctorate Degree preferred
- Graduate level degree (Masters or Doctoral) in any of the topics mentioned in the job responsibilities section
- Pathologists Assistant ASCP certification and an active New York State Pathologists Assistant License
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- General administrative duties required
- Overall business acumen ethical decision making and relationship management skills required
- Proficient in the following areas: Relevant content expertise research techniques instructional design delivery and assessment course management psychometrics/statistics learning theory public speaking effective communication conflict management
