SUMMARY/SCOPE:

The Mathematics department is in the Holland School ofSciences and Mathematics. The department offers baccalaureate degrees inMathematics. We are looking for part-time adjunct faculty to teach remedialcollege Mathematics specifically Intermediate Algebra.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach remedial college courses in Mathematics. The current need isfor an adjunct instructor of Intermediate Algebra.

Demonstrate effective teaching strategies by planning andimplementing a variety of teaching methods as well as assessment.

Maintain accurate records and documents and submit timely include but are not limited to syllabi grades and officehours.

Know and uphold the policies in the most current faculty handbook.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 18 graduate hours inMathematics required. Teachingexperience is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The job is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand forlong periods of time while performing office and computer operations.

Must be able to teach in a classroom setting.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Thisposition is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week)with teaching load at the Hardin-Simmons University campus.
