HSU CHRISTIAN STANDARD REQUIREMENT FOR CONTACT INFORMATION:Dr. Bob Brooks SUMMARY/SCOPE: We are looking for part-time adjunct faculty members to provide privateinstruction for various specific musical instruments to undergraduate students.
EMPLOYMENTCandidate must profess a Christian Faith maintain membership in a local congregation and respect the values and distinctives central to the historically Baptist values of HSU as reflected in the Universitys Statement of Faith.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach an undergraduate private instruction course in the School of Music. Demonstrate effective teaching strategiesby planning and implementing a variety of teaching methods as well asassessment. Maintain accurate records anddocuments submit timely reports and be responsive to include but are not limited to syllabi and grades. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Masters degree in music is required. Teachingexperience preferred. CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS: None are required for this position at this time. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Thejob is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods oftime while performing office and computer operations. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Thisposition is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week)that involves teaching in-person classes on campus at Hardin-Simmons Universityin Abilene Texas. Must be a resident of the state of Texas
