Job Summary

The Blueprint Reading Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in blueprint reading and technical drawing interpretation for students preparing for careers in manufacturing construction industrial maintenance welding engineering technology and related technical fields.

Job Duties:

Teach courses in blueprint reading technical drawing interpretation and related technical subjects.
Instruct students in reading and interpreting construction manufacturing mechanical electrical and industrial drawings.
Teach the use of industry standards symbols tolerances scales dimensions and specifications.
Develop and/or follow established course syllabi lesson plans and instructional materials
Assess student learning through assignments exams and practical evaluations
Maintain accurate records of attendance grades and student progress
Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of equipment
Participate in departmental meetings and training as required

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in Industrial Technology Manufacturing Technology Engineering Technology Construction Technology Drafting or a closely related field. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant industry experience in manufacturing construction engineering drafting industrial maintenance welding or a related field. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge experience or evidence of a commitment to inclusivity and excellence in teaching methodologies that effectively engage our diverse student population. The candidate should have experience with instructional technologies including presentation software and learning management systems (i.e. Blackboard). Candidates should also demonstrate proficiency with technology and written verbal and interpersonal communication.
