ADAL Technician

FedTec is seeking an ADAL Technician to support the Social Security Administrations AI & Program Evaluation (AIPE) Analytics and Improvements Staff (AIS) under the Advanced Data Analytics Lab (ADAL) Work Order (0.55-210). This role requires a hybrid skill set spanning data engineering and data science to deliver advanced analytics products machine learning models and business intelligence solutions that support SSA operational and HQ components in driving improved staff performance customer experience and program integrity.

Location: (On-Site) Woodlawn MD

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform complex data engineering to supply business intelligence across a wide range of SSA T2 and T16 workloads including large-volume transactional datasets from the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
  • Design develop and maintain ETL pipelines for data extraction transformation matching cleansing and loading across multiple SSA systems and data sources.
  • Develop enhance and support machine learning and predictive analytics models for case selection fraud detection productivity analysis and program integrity initiatives.
  • Respond to Answer as a Service (AaaS) requests by performing ad hoc data analysis and delivering management information recurring analytical reports and quick-turn data products.
  • Engineer complex research datasets from large-volume SSA transactional data for use by operations research analysts economists and statisticians in advanced analytical studies.
  • Apply natural language processing (NLP) data mining and clustering techniques to extract insights from structured and unstructured SSA data.
  • Develop advanced data visualizations and interactive dashboards using Tableau or Power BI to communicate analytical findings to SSA operational and HQ stakeholders.
  • Deliver Payroll Information Exchange (PIE) analytics and cross-agency data integration products in support of disability policy actuarial analysis and program evaluation.
  • Utilize Python SAS and SQL (including distributed environments such as Greenplum) for complex data manipulation statistical analysis and production-ready analytical solutions.
  • Collaborate with SSA operational and HQ components to translate high-level project requirements into technical tasks ensuring all deliverables include code models technical documentation and final reports.
  • Document all analytical approaches code models and technical artifacts in compliance with SSA policies OMB directives and NIST standards.
  • Submit weekly status reports documenting work activities hours charged by Work Activity issues identified or resolved and upcoming work per Work Order requirements.

Basic Qualifications Required Education Certifications Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Data Science Statistics Engineering or a related field with 8 years of relevant experience in data engineering data science or advanced analytics; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required: Proficiency in SQL in a distributed database environment (e.g. Greenplum PostgreSQL or equivalent).
  • Required: Experience with Python and SAS for complex data manipulation statistical analysis and machine learning.
  • Required: Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Demonstrated experience with data manipulation tasks including data extraction matching across multiple systems transformation cleansing and loading of structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience with big data platforms and ecosystems such as Hadoop Spark PySpark Hive Impala or HBase.
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning models including supervised learning natural language processing (NLP) clustering and predictive analytics applications.
  • Ability to engineer complex research datasets from large-volume transactional data for use by analytical and research staff.
  • Familiarity with modern machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow PyTorch Scikit-learn or MADlib.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Bitbucket or GitLab and peer-collaboration tools such as Confluence.
  • Strong SSA T2 and T16 data domain knowledge strongly preferred; familiarity with SSAs Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and beneficiary/recipient data systems a plus.
  • Minimum Citizenship Status Requirements: US Citizen
