Activities Therapist (79948)

Pay range: $42.76/hour - $45/hour depending on years of experience

Centurion is proud to be the provider ofcomprehensive services to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. We are currently seeking a Full-time Activity Therapist to join our team at Western Correctional Institution(WCI)located in Cumberland Maryland.

The Activity Therapist works as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and uses recreational/social activities to accomplish treatment objectives foster skill building and problem solving in support of healing and psychological stabilization. This person will assist patients using recovery based skill-building strategies to enhance their skill sets related to recreation and leisure activities and to reinforce adaptive and independent living skills.

• NCCAP Certification preferred
• Bachelors Degree in the social sciences (psychology social work or counseling or related field)
• Specific training in Recreational Therapy
• Two or more years of experience providing comprehensive art/recreational therapy services
• Experience working in corrections preferred
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
• Ability to obtain a security clearance to include drug screen and criminal background check
