Accounts Payable Specialist are responsible for entering tracking and/or creating relevant data as pertaining to Accounts Payable component of United Church Homes (UCH).

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Inputs edits and posts all incoming invoices including all invoices from facilities and checks for accuracyand reconciles vendor accounts
  • Resolves issues and interacts with managers/vendors relevant A/P situations/payments
  • Creates schedules in Excel for utilities and other recurring expenditures requiring inter/intracompany allocation to be paid creates coversheet with details
  • Completes process for pre-paid utilities; automatic debits; creates and execute pre-paid check for recording purposes
  • Maintain updates/changes to existing vendors and maintains historical records within the software system and scans invoices for record keeping
  • Receives and execute daily bank transfers and employee reimbursement
  • Ensures all invoices have proper authority level approval
  • Processes and prepares A/P checks for check printing and mailing
  • Run Reports disperse financial data to all necessary personnel
  • Manages the travel and expense validations; Receives reviews edits and issues information to HR for payroll reimbursements
  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or directed

Skills & Abilities

  • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
  • Experience: One - two years experience in a related field
  • Computer Skills: Must have proficient Excel understanding and experience; Must be able to operate a computer and basic office equipment including check machine postage machine and envelope stuffer
  • Certifications & Licenses: None required
  • Other Requirements: Must have good interpersonal skills; Must be able to adhere to all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook
