Lead Project Cost Accountant
U.S. Citizenship Required (No Dual Citizenship)
Are you an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment Were looking for aLead Project Cost Accountant to play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting supporting complex government contracts and driving process improvements within a collaborative accounting team.
What Youll Do
- Lead revenue recognition activities underASC 606 including Contract Review Worksheets (CRWs)
- Review contract setup within the ERP system
- Prepare journal entries account reconciliations and cost reclassifications
- Perform inventory net realizable value (NRV) assessments
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement variances
- Prepare quarterly Estimate-at-Completion (EAC) profit reporting and financial flux analysis
- Calculate and support monthly accruals including warranty and program-related accruals
- Prepare corporate reporting schedules and HFM reporting packages
- Support month-end quarter-end and year-end close activities
- Partner with internal and external auditors including SOX compliance efforts
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis

What Were Looking For
- Bachelors degree with9 years of relevant accounting experienceor
- Masters degree with7 years of experienceor
- 13 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
- Strong knowledge ofU.S. GAAPASC 606 andSarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
- Experience with monthly quarterly and annual financial close processes
- Experience supporting internal and external audits
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills
- CPA or active progress toward CPA preferred
Preferred Experience
- CPA certification
- Oracle ERP
- OneStream or similar account reconciliation software
- Government contracting or project-based accounting
