Accounting Manager

Overview

Banyan Search is looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations and accounts payable functions within a growing organization. Reporting to senior finance leadership this role will oversee month-end close activities ensure GAAP compliance strengthen internal controls and drive process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting expertise a collaborative mindset and a passion for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close activities including journal entries reconciliations financial analysis and issue resolution.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and internal control requirements.
• Partner with business leaders and IT teams to improve processes system utilization and data integrity.
• Serve as a key contact for external auditors and support audit-related activities.
• Oversee accounts payable operations including invoice processing vendor payments and reconciliations.
• Supervise mentor and develop accounting and AP team members.
• Identify and implement process improvements automation opportunities and workflow enhancements.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support operational and business decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Experience in general ledger accounting financial reporting and month-end close.
• Prior experience leading or supervising accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP internal controls and accounting best practices.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements and system enhancements.
• Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
