Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas of accounting for all corporations within Sheppard Pratt Health System. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles practices and procedures to ensure that financial statements are accurately and timely reported. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including oversight of and/or actual preparation of monthly general ledger entries financial reports audit and various financial and account analyses. The Accounting Manager will have contact with leadership and requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

What to expect

• Obtains andmaintainsa thorough understanding of the general ledger structure and financialactivity for each program.
• Coordinates and ensures thetimelyreporting of all monthly financial information for inclusion inmonthly financial statements.
• Manages the month-end close process.
• Performs and/or supervises various financial and account analyses.
• Supportsaudit work.
• Collaborates with the other team members to support overall organization and departmentgoals andobjectives.
• Assistsin development and implementation of controls and procedures as necessarytoenhance the workflow offinance department to ensureaccuratefinancial reportingand to ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Performs all otherjob relatedduties asisassigned.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to years and level of related experience.

What we need from you

• Work requires5years of directjob relatedexperience along with a welldemonstratedknowledge of accounting principles and theory normallyacquiredthrough aBachelors Degree in accounting.
• 7years prior experience in the financial reporting/analysis/general ledger area.
• Must be PC proficient and must have strong experience with GL accounting software
