Accounting Manager

Controller - Oakland/East Bay Area CA (On Site)

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys improving processes building structure and partnering closely with operations and ownership.

This role is ideal for someone coming from manufacturing construction industrial plastics engineering or other operationally complex environments who wants more visibility and influence inside the business.

Scope:

• Lead and improve the month-end close process
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations reporting reconciliations and financial accuracy
• Analyze margins operational costs and profitability trends
• Partner directly with ownership and leadership on financial planning and business decisions
• Improve reporting accountability and accounting processes across the organization
• Support ERP optimization and operational reporting improvements
• Mentor and develop a long-tenured accounting team
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams

Requirements:

• 5 years of accounting or finance leadership experience
• Prior experience as a Controller Assistant Controller or Senior Accounting Manager
• Strong month-end close reconciliations and financial reporting experience
• Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience required
• Manufacturing construction industrial or project-based accounting experience highly preferred
• Cost accounting job costing margin analysis or operational finance exposure preferred
• Process improvement mindset with a willingness to be hands-on
• CPA is a plus not required
• Skills in data modeling
