Accounting Manager Japanese Bilingual

A leading Japanese travel company is seeking an experienced and bilingual Accounting professional to join our team in Oahu Hawaii. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can oversee accounting operations support financial reporting and collaborate with both U.S. and Japan-based stakeholders.

• Position: Accounting Manager / Senior Accounting Manager
• Location: Oahu Hawaii (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including AP/AR general ledger reconciliations and month-end close
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
• Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting standards tax regulations and internal policies
• Coordinate with external auditors tax advisors and corporate headquarters in Japan
• Manage budgeting forecasting and cash flow reporting
• Lead and mentor accounting staff while improving operational processes and internal controls
• Support business planning and financial analysis for management decision-making
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and travel business teams
  
• Other duties may be assigned as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred
• 7 years of Finance & Accounting experience preferred
• 5 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role preferred
• Business-level bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese (spoken and written)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience working in an international or Japanese company environment is preferred
• Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
