Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support a large multi-site manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for overseeing core accounting activities ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong internal controls across multiple locations. The Accounting Manager will lead a team of five accounting professionals and will be a visible hands-on member of the Finance team partnering closely with operations FP&A and corporate finance. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing accounting experience a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP financial reports and a proven people-leadership skills. This role requires both technical accounting expertise and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic operationally focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Close
- Manage the monthly and annual close processes for Victaulic Company
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies
- Review journal entries account reconciliations and balance sheet analyses
- Coordinate with FP&A on variance analysis forecasts and budget support
- Support consolidation and reporting requirements for corporate finance
- Support M&A activity and ensuring standalone facilities are on schedule for close
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Maintain and enforce strong internal controls across accounting functions
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures
- Participate in ongoing process improvement and control enhancement initiatives
Audit Support Internal and External
- Serve as a point of contact for auditorsensuring complete accurate timely deliverables
- Prepare schedules for annual external audit December year end
- Support multiple internal audit requests from site controls to specific department audits
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead develop and mentor U.S. accounting professionals
- Clearly define roles responsibilities and performance expectations
- Serve as a visible and engaged member of the Finance leadership team
- Partner closely with plant leadership operations FP&A and other finance functions
- Promote a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement
Systems & Process Improvement
- Leverage ERP systems to improve reporting accuracy efficiency and controls
- Support system enhancements integrations and process standardization efforts
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows across multiple sites
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CMA preferred
- 610 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience managing and developing a team
- Proficiency with ERP systems in a multi-site organization within a complex environment
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing entity
- Background in standard costing
- Experience working closely with plant operations and finance leadership
- Exposure to system implementations or process transformation initiatives
- Prior experience with acquisitions consolidating financials and ERP transition
