Accounting Manager

Copart is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager General Ledger to lead core general ledger operations close activities reconciliations and financial reporting support. This role ensures the accuracy completeness and timeliness of accounting records while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who can manage daily GL activity support a fast-paced close process and partner cross-functionally to improve efficiency resolve issues and support Coparts growing operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee general ledger accounting activities including journal entries account reconciliations and balance sheet support.

- Lead monthly quarterly and year-end close processes to ensure deadlines are met.

- Review financial activity for accuracy completeness and compliance with GAAP and Copart accounting policies.

- Investigate and resolve account variances reconciliation breaks and unusual transactions.

- Prepare and review supporting schedules for internal reporting audits and management review.

- Partner with AP Treasury Tax FP&A Operations and other teams to ensure proper accounting treatment and issue resolution.

- Support external and internal audit requests including PBC schedules and documentation.

- Identify and drive process improvements standardization and automation opportunities within the GL team.

- Assist with ERP enhancements accounting system changes and special projects as needed.

- Provide guidance coaching and performance support to staff accountants or senior accountants.

Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field required.

- CPA required

- 4 years of progressive accounting experience including general ledger and financial reporting.

- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

- Strong understanding of GAAP internal controls and financial close best practices.

- Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.

- Excellent analytical organizational communication and problem-solving skills.

- Familiarity with large-scale reconciliations and complex account structures.
