Position Summary

TheAccounting Managersupports the Financial Controller by overseeing day-to-day accounting operations across gaming and non-gaming business units including casino operations hotel food & beverage retail and related enterprises. This role ensuresaccuratefinancial processingtimelyreconciliations and adherence to internal controls Tribal Gaming Regulations and applicable federal requirements.

The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in executing the month-end closemaintainingfinancial integrity and supporting compliance efforts while guiding the accounting teams daily activities. This position focuses on operational execution process consistency and accuracy while partnering with the Controller on financial reporting and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate themonth-end close process ensuring all journal entries reconciliations and adjustments are completed accurately andtimely

  • Oversee daily accounting activities including general ledger accounts payable accounts receivable and payroll support

  • Review account reconciliations and ensure completeness and accuracy across all balance sheet accounts

  • Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting

  • Ensure proper accounting for revenue expenses and interdepartmental allocations

  • Assistin the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statementsin accordance withGAAP and tribal enterprise policies

  • Analyze variances and provide detailed explanations to the Financial Controller

  • Monitor financial data for accuracy trends and inconsistencies and escalate issues as needed

  • Support consolidation of multiple operational areas (gaming and non-gaming)

  • Ensure all financial reporting and accounting practicescomply withGenerally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)and where applicableGovernmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB)requirements for tribal or governmental entities

  • Enforce internal controlsin accordance with:

  • Tribal Gaming Commission regulations

  • NIGC Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS)

  • Title 31 / AML requirements

  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures across all departments

  • Assistwith internal and external audits including preparation of schedules and responses

  • Identifycontrol gaps and recommend process improvements

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff providing guidance on reconciliations systems and processes

  • Reviewteam workfor quality accuracy and timeliness

  • Provide training on accounting procedures compliance requirements and system usage

  • Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment aligned with organizational values

  • Support implementation and optimization of accounting systems (e.g. Sage Intacct casino systems)

  • Identifyopportunities to improve efficiency automation and reporting accuracy

  • Assistwith system upgrades integrations and process documentation

  • Support cross-functional communication with departments such as Cage Revenue Audit and IT

  • Assist the Financial Controller with budgeting forecasting and special projects

  • Participate in audit readiness regulatory updates and process enhancements

  • Performadditionalduties as assigned based on business needs



Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field

  • 58 years of progressive accounting experience including supervisory responsibilities

  • Experience in casino/gaming or hospitality industry strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles

Skills & Competencies

  • Solid understanding of internal controls and regulatory compliance in gaming environments

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks

  • Effective communication and team leadership skills

  • Proficiencyin ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with NIGC MICS and Title 31/AML compliance

  • Familiarity with multi-entity or multi-department accounting environments

  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory reviews

  • Exposure to casino systems and integrated financial platforms

Working Conditions

  • Onsite role within a 24/7 resort casino environment

  • May require occasional extended hours during close audits or system implementations

  • High-compliance environment requiring adherence to regulatory standards
