Job Summary
Objective:
The Accounting Intern will provide hands-on support to the accounting department by assisting with routine accounting functions and special projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who is pursuing a degree in accounting or finance and is interested in gaining practical experience in a professional accounting environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and posting of monthly journal entries under the supervision of accounting staff
- Support the completion of account reconciliations including researching and resolving variances
- Assist with budget preparation and analysis including compiling data and supporting schedules
- Help maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with company policies
- Participate in month-end close activities and other ad hoc accounting projects as assigned
- Collaborate with team members to ensure deadlines are met and information is accurate and complete
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications :
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field with completion of foundational accounting courses at a minimum. Completion of intermediate and/or advanced accounting courses preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (coursework-level knowledge acceptable)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel Teams and Outlook; experience with accounting systems is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a professional environment

This is a paid summer internship opportunity located in Indianapolis Indiana. Please note that housing or a housing stipend is not provided.
