Accounting Intern

DEPARTMENT PURPOSE:The Accounting and Finance team contributes to the mission by serving as trusted stewards of financial resources partnering across the organization to ensure financial accuracy accountability and complianceguided by integrity and intentionality to support the OSU Foundations mission and amplify the impact of donor generosity.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:The Accounting Intern is responsible for assisting the accounting department in recording reporting and monitoring financial resources of the Foundation.â


KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:
ââProcessing Invoices from the University80%â

• Initial review of invoicesinEmburseEnterprise ensuring propersignatures are obtained.
• Assist withAccounts PayableCheck Run processed on Monday and Wednesday
• Assist withAccounts PayableEFT processed on Friday
• Collaboratewith Campus Partners to resolveissues

Data Entry and Record Management10%

• Support annual audits by gathering documentation requested by auditors
• Prepareand maintain reports related to Accounts Payable activity
• Export data for project management review

• Scanning of documents
• Research projectsand reconciling excel worksheets

JOB COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
EducationCertificationsand Experience-

• In pursuit of abachelors or mastersdegree in accounting or finance with a strong academic record.

Job Competencies-

• Strong reading comprehension andproblem-solvingcapabilities
• Must possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Must adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
• Excellent attention to detail accuracy and the ability to meet deadlinesisrequired.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• High ethical and professional standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to communicate effectively in person by phone and via video conferencing. Requires frequent repetitive motions when operating computers telephones and standardoffice equipment. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings. Ability to lift carry push or pull materials weighing up to approximately 20 pounds.
