CRST has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Early Talent Program within our summer internship program as an Accounting / Finance Intern. CRSTs Accounting / Finance summer internship program isâa great opportunityâfor first-hand experience in yourâAccounting / Financeâfield of interest. Youâwill work on one or more projects that create value for our key internal and external stakeholders. You will have the chance to apply practical applications of accounting classroom concepts.â

Here is what you can expect:

Accounting & Finance:

• Transportation-Specific Accounting Concepts - Gain hands-on experience with transportation-specific accounting topics including ASC 842 lease implementation vehicle maintenance insurance and more
• Accounts Receivable and Payable - Assist with transactional accounting for accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Month-End Closing Support - Contribute to the month-end closing process and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Accounting Projects - Support various enterprise-wide accounting initiatives and projects
• Account/P&L Structure - Develop a basic understanding of account structures and profit and loss (P&L) reporting
• Spreadsheet Server - Gain experience using the Spreadsheet Server for financial analysis and reporting
• Support McLeod (CRST ERP) - Assist with McLeod (CRST ERP) including system deployment and general operations
• Participate in Meetings - Actively participate in status meetings and stand-up sessions contributing to team discussions
• Senior Leadership Exposure - Learn from our Senior Leaders from day 1 and present your project and experience to them at the end of the summer.
• Accountability & Reliability Maintain regular and reliable attendance while performing other duties as assigned to support team and business needs

The Summer Internship Program is where students are exposed to the transportation industry engaged in real-world problem-solving and immersed in social and educational opportunities with other interns and leaders across the organization. You will have the opportunity to work hand in hand with different business entities to accomplish company objectives and goals.

Here is what we are looking for:

• Pursuing a business-related 4-year bachelors degree from accredited universityâ
• Junior-level college student with a major inâAccounting Finance Data Analytics or similar
• Minimum 2.5 or aboveâGPAâ
• Relevant work experience / internships / related activities (tutor business fraternity etc.)âpreferred but not required
• Strong technical acumen and desire for a career inâAccounting / Financeââ
• Strong communicationâand relationship-building skillsâ
• Able to develop alternative solutions and work well in individual and group problem solving situationsââ
• Self-starter with high personal motivation and desire to take initiative and ownershipââ
• Exhibit a strong work ethic and loyaltyâ
• Has strong aspirations for future success in business or managementâ
• Ability to multi-task and problem-solve effectively
• Experience using Microsoft Office including Excel.â
• Basic oral and written communication skillsâ
• Maximizes relationships fosters collaboration and builds trustâ

Here is some other helpful information:

• Applicants must be enrolled in undergraduate courses at least the fall semester following the summer internship.
• Interns who successfully complete the Early Talent Program are considered for full-time positions within CRST upon graduation with additional benefits.â
• These internships will be based at our offices in Cedar Rapids IA.
