Job Summary
Senior Accountant / Supervisor / Manager
Location: Phoenix Arizona (Hybrid - Onsite During Peak Season)
Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping Review
Review bookkeeping and accounting work prepared for small business clients
Oversee monthly accounting engagements and account reconciliations
Perform cleanup accounting projects as needed
Assist with year-end financial statement preparation
Ensure financial information is accurate complete and properly supported
Compilations & Reviews
Manage compilation engagements
Assist with review engagements
Ensure compliance with professional standards and firm procedures
Review financial statements and supporting documentation
Client Relationship Management
Work directly with small business clients
Answer accounting and financial reporting questions
Participate in client meetings alongside firm leadership
Maintain responsive and professional communication
Build long-term client relationships
Workflow & Project Management
Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
Monitor deadlines and project timelines
Identify issues and risks proactively
Recommend practical solutions and improvements
Ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule
Technology & Systems
Utilize QuickBooks UltraTax Canopy and related accounting software
Maintain organized client records and documentation
Leverage technology to improve workflow efficiency
Qualifications
5-7 years of public accounting experience preferred
Strong accounting and bookkeeping expertise
Experience working with small business clients
Strong understanding of US GAAP
Experience with compilations and reviews
Ability to review and provide feedback on staff work
Strong communication and client service skills
Strong organizational and project management abilities
CPA preferred but not required
Practical public accounting experience highly valued
