Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with 23 years of accounting experience to support daily financial operations reporting and month-end close activities. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with numbers staying organized and being part of a supportive and collaborative accounting team.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to inventory cost of goods sold (COGS) and revenue

• Assist with monthly and year-end close processes

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts

• Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts

• Reconcile vendor statements and assist with accounts payable

• Prepare sales and expense reports for management

• Support pricing margin and cost analysis

• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules

• Process payroll and sales commission

• Help ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls

• Assist in budgeting and forecasting

• Work cross-functionally with sales operations and purchasing

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field

• 23 years of accounting experience preferably in wholesale distribution or retail

• Understanding of inventory accounting and cost of goods sold

• Experience with accounting or ERP systems such as QuickBooks NetSuite SAP or Oracle

• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP

• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills

• Experience with high-volume transactions

• Knowledge of inventory costing methods such as FIFO or weighted average
