Position Overview

On behalf of a confidential automotive manufacturing client Hammitt Group is seeking an experienced Account Manager to support key customer relationships and commercial activities within a Tier II manufacturing environment.

This role is responsible for managing assigned customer accounts serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring alignment between customer expectations and internal execution. The Account Manager will act as the customer advocate internally while coordinating across multiple departments to support pricing delivery quality and service requirements.

The position requires strong relationship management skills manufacturing industry experience and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow assigned automotive customer accounts while maintaining strong long-term relationships
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for all commercial service and coordination activities
  • Act as the internal voice of the customer ensuring requirements and expectations are clearly communicated and executed
  • Collaborate with quality engineering operations finance and supply chain teams to resolve issues and support customer needs
  • Support preparation and submission of quotations pricing proposals and commercial negotiations under management direction
  • Monitor and manage customer forecasts volume changes pricing adjustments and delivery expectations
  • Ensure customer requirements are aligned with production scheduling and internal capabilities
  • Coordinate and support customer meetings visits and performance reviews
  • Prepare account reporting presentations and internal/external communication materials
  • Conduct market and account analysis to support relationship development and commercial strategy
  • Support adherence to automotive quality systems and product realization processes (e.g. APQP/PPAP principles)
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support account success
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelors degree in Business Engineering Supply Chain or related field preferred
Experience
  • 4 years of experience in account management customer service sales support or purchasing within the automotive manufacturing industry
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong ERP system experience required or strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of automotive quality and manufacturing processes (APQP PPAP Six Sigma concepts)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel PowerPoint Word)
  • Strong negotiation communication and relationship management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in cross-functional manufacturing environments
