Description

Performs responsible and complex financial clerical work involved in the preparation and maintenance of financial and statistical records with independent responsibility for an assigned function.

CURRENT VACANCY:
A full-time position (8 hrs/day 12 mos/yr) with full benefits is offered in the Accounts Payable unit of the Business and Financial Services Department. District health and welfare contributions total up to $34732.44 per year.


The resulting list from this recruitment may also be used to fill other permanent and or substitute (temporary) positions as needed. Substitute employees are paid a fixed hourly rate.

Examples of Duties

Performs a variety of complex clerical financial work in:
-The preparation maintenance and auditing of financial records.
-Arranging posting and balancing financial data.
-Preparing computing and processing payroll records.
-Calculating profit and loss statements reconciling bank statements and maintaining journals.
-The collection and disbursement of student body funds.
-Financial record keeping relating to the purchase and sale of student store merchandise and the sale of student body cards athletic insurance tickets for school events and yearbooks; displaying and selling merchandise.
-Sorting and counting money making bank deposits and writing checks.
-Assisting supervisor in planning and implementing special projects.
-Prepares expenditure reports for federal and state grant programs.
-Reconciles insurance billing and employee eligibility for the Districts health and welfare plans.
-Performs related duties as assigned.

Employment Standards

Minimum Requirements:Two years of recent and responsible financial clerical experience.10-key Certificate: Minimum 140 net keystrokes per minute with 90% accuracy (see information below).
Desirable:

3. Date of test. The test must be dated within two years of the application filing date. Certificates older than two years are not accepted.
4. Gross data-entry speed net speed and number of errors or percentage of accuracy.

Incomplete applications are disqualified. Attached resumes are not accepted in lieu of a completed district application. A 10-key certificate must be attached. If desired resumes and other supporting documents may be scanned and attached to supplement a completed application form.
A review of applicants experience and qualifications will be conducted. Based on that evaluation a limited number of top-qualifying applicants whose qualifications best meet the current needs of the District will be invited to participate in the next step of the examination process. The examination will include a multiple-choice written test and a qualifications appraisal interview. Qualified candidates will be provided with more details prior to the start of the examination process.
Salary: Listed salary amounts indicate the first and last steps of the range for the position.
Probationary Period: 130 days of paid service.
After an offer of employment a candidate must submit proof of freedom from tuberculosis. Also required after an offer is accepted the candidate must complete a pre-employment physical examination and obtain fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (district-paid). The onboarding process includes legally mandated training(s) and reference addition pursuant to Senate Bill 848 (SB848) the district is required to conduct reference checks that include inquiry into whether the applicant has ever been the subject of a credible complaint investigation or disciplinary action related to child abuse sexual misconduct or sexual harassment.
