Job Summary
As a member of our Beats Accessories Product Design team you would conceive design test solve problems and bring into production a diverse array of accessory products. We work closely with various multi-functional teams including Industrial Design Electrical Engineering Software and Marketing. Expertly integrating advanced components into brand new products means every single day is different here! This role may require international travel (10%).
Design mechanical parts including plastic metal or softgoods partsnInterface with cross functional teams to solicit and understand requirementsnCreate 2D technical drawings and review dimensional inspection reportsnDo basic mechanical finite element analysisnTravel to builds to ensure the product assembly is done correctlynPerform failure analysis on failed units and determine corrective actions
BS Mechanical Engineeringn1-2 years experience in product design or equivalentnDemonstrated ability in plastic and metal part designn3-D CAD skillsnExperience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) statistical tolerance analysis techniques and geometric tolerancingnAnalytical/problem solving skillsnSome experience with basic finite element analysis and general mechanical engineering analysisnFlexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environmentnAbility to travel internationally (10%)
Experience working with overseas manufacturersnConsumer electronics design experiencenIntegration of wireless antenna (GSM GPS Wifi) into mechanical enclosuresnExperience with component modules (Audio drivers batteries power supplies camera modules etc.)nMS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
