Access Services Coordinator

Job Summary
The Access Services Coordinator is a salaried exempt 1.0FTE position. Because this position serves as the back-up to the student employees who open the building normal work hours during the academic terms are 7:45 a.m. 4:15 p.m. with an hour lunch break. During intersession periods hours are 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Contingent on library functions or events occasional evening or weekend hours will be required; otherwise the normal expected hours of performance are minimally 37.5 hours/week.
RESPONSIBILIITES:
75% A. Supervision of Access Services Student Employees
With the support of the Access Services Librarian recruits hires trains supervisesevaluatesandsupportsstudent employees engaged in Access Services functions.
Creates student employee schedules and monitorsstudent attendance (including time-off requests shift trades etc.) throughScheduleFly.
Processes monthly payroll by approving timesheets through Workday.
Fosters a sense of teamwork and information sharingamong all Access Services team members.
Providescontinuous training opportunities in addition to creating and updating training materials for student employees to build knowledge of library systems and services.
Conducts coaching and counseling sessions according to library policies and procedures to alter non-compliant behavior.
Responsible for creating and leading professional development opportunities.
Manages performance reviews during the fall and spring semesters processing wage increases through Workday.
Partners with Access Services Librarian to update student employee job descriptions.
15%B. Resource Sharing
Serves as the primary contact forpatronswhenprocessingresource sharing requests including borrowing and lendingin accordance withinterlibrary loan best practices (timeliness accuracy follow-through etc.).
Addresses internal and external customer service issues related to resource sharing with the support of the Access Services Librarian.
Complies withcopyright and licensing termsassociated withresource sharing workflowsandvendor licenses.
Gathers and compilesaccurateresource sharing statistics from all relevant platforms.
10%C. GeneralResponsibilities
Performs general fulfillment tasks such asholds reserves circulation digitization requests resource sharing and customer service.
Monitors the accessibilitycleanlinessand professional appearance of library spaces.
Ensurespatronphysicalaccess topublic computers printers and scanners including instructing patrons in proper use of the equipment. Serves as the primary contact for equipment maintenance requests.
Addresses customer service issuesrelated to spaces.
Providesdirectional guidance and reference referrals to patrons.
Updates the library hours on the website and building signage.
Orders andmaintainsthe tidiness and organization ofsupplies related toAccessServices operations.
Supports Access Services Librarian with programming marketing and outreach as needed.
Gathers and compiles usage statistics related to fulfillment and building use.
Other duties as assigned.These may include:
Aidinglibrary staff members incollectionof data and other projects.
Attendingseminars trainingsormeetings as needed or assigned in keeping current with library circulation trends needs and information.
Participatingin college and library committees.
REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS:
Associatesdegreeor completion of60 semester hours from an accredited college or university.
Demonstrated leadership skills such as empowering inspiring and motivating a team.
Excellentverbal and writtencommunication skills.
Superb customer serviceskills.
Proficiencyin the use of standard hardware and software applications used in a library environment including office equipment (copier scanner etc.) MSOffice tools (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook).
Strong digital literacy skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior work experience in a library environment.
Three years of prior supervisory experience.
Proventrack recordof motivatingsupportingand developing employees.
Proficiencywith an Integrated Library System
Understanding oflibrary ethics and copyright law.
Thorough knowledge of Library of Congress Classification.
Familiarity with copyright laws and regulations.
Experience withWorkday.
Experience using Alma and/orTipasa.
