Job Summary

Overview

Columbus Crew is seeking an Academy Assistant Coach to work within the clubs U15-U18 program. Performing the underlined duties the Academy Assistant Coach will play a key supporting role in the successful implementation of the Academys mission and One Club mantra. The candidate will also have a vital role in the development and monitoring of future professional soccer players with the Columbus Crew. The role is also key in developing community relationships especially in underrepresented areas with the goal of recruiting players into the Academy program.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the organization and supervision of players for Academy matches and training sessions
  • Assist in the design and execution of daily team training sessions
  • Assist with development and execution of game tactics within model of play and one club philosophy
  • Lead/Assist in the implementation of IDPs and supplemental training sessions for players within the assigned age group
  • Assist in the talent identification and scouting process for the Academy
  • Assist in the programming and club relations with external stakeholder initiatives such as the Crew Network Program Crew Affiliate Program MLS GO and any other identified programs as needed
  • Regional travel to participate in both player and club development and identification initiatives.
  • S. Soccer B License (or working towards)
  • Preferred strong playing background ie.. Division I College USLMLS or overseas equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years coaching experience at Academy level or professional playing background.
  • Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a high performing environment
  • Available to travel when necessary and work evenings weekends and holidays with some irregular hours
  • Being a team player as it relates to collaborating with other academy departments
