Prep Academy Tutors of Northern Los Angeles is seeking dedicated knowledgeable and compassionate Academic Tutors to support students in grades K12 across a variety of subject areas. Our tutors provide personalized one-on-one instruction tailored to each students academic needs learning style and goals.

This is an ideal opportunity for certified teachers subject-matter experts graduate students or experienced educators who are passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve measurable academic growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one academic tutoring in core subjects (Math English Language Arts Science Social Studies and/or Foreign Languages)
• Support students with homework study skills executive functioning and test preparation
• Develop individualized learning plans based on student needs and assessment results
• Track student progress and provide regular updates to families
• Foster a positive encouraging and professional learning environment
• Travel to students homes throughout the Northern Los Angeles California area

Qualifications

• Masters degree or teaching certification
• Strong subject-matter expertise in at least one core academic area
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience (classroom private tutoring or small-group instruction)
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Reliable transportation
• Authorized to work in the United States

Requirements

A qualified applicant will have a bachelors degree and will also meet at least one of the following criteria:

• You hold a valid California teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof
• You are a current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate
• You have 2 or more years of experience as a classroom teacher in a private public or charter school
• You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. university or college
• You are a Masters/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. university or college
