A highly regarded secondary school in Kensington & Chelsea is seeking a dedicated Academic Support Assistant (Maths) to join its thriving Maths Department from September 2026. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an ambitious graduate looking to make a meaningful impact on students academic progress while developing a strong foundation for a future career in education.

As an Academic Support Assistant (Maths) you will work closely with experienced teachers the Head of Department and pastoral staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Through targeted intervention sessions classroom support and academic mentoring you will help pupils build confidence strengthen their mathematical understanding and achieve their full potential.

This role is particularly well suited to aspiring Maths Teachers who are considering a PGCE or teacher training programme in the future and are keen to gain first-hand experience within an outstanding secondary school environment.

• Provide targeted academic support to students across Years 711

• Deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group Maths intervention sessions

• Support students in overcoming learning barriers and improving attainment

• Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams to monitor student progress

• Assist with lesson preparation classroom resources and assessment activities

• Promote a positive focused and inclusive learning environment

• Act as a positive role model encouraging engagement and academic success

• A recent Maths graduate from a leading UK university (2:1 or above preferred)

• Passionate about education and supporting young peoples development

• Considering a future career in teaching or educational psychology

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Organised proactive and able to work effectively within a team

• Previous experience working with young people through tutoring mentoring coaching or voluntary work is advantageous
