Academic Perinatal Psychiatrist North Carolina

A well-established academic healthcare organization is seeking aBoard-Eligible/Board-Certified Perinatal Psychiatristto join a growing psychiatry and behavioral health program. This position offers a balanced mix ofclinical care teaching and academic involvementwithin a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

• Academic practice with opportunities forteaching and scholarly activity
• Combination ofinpatient and outpatient responsibilities
• Provide psychiatric care forprenatal perinatal and postpartum patients
• Inpatient responsibilities include consults in:
  • Emergency department
  • Labor & delivery unit
  • Behavioral health unit
• Outpatient care in bothbehavioral health and OB/GYN clinic settings
• Standard schedule:MondayFriday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Phone-only call coveragewith resident support taking first call
• Work alongside amultidisciplinary team including OB/GYN and behavioral health specialists

• Provide psychiatric evaluation diagnosis and treatment forperinatal and reproductive mental health conditions
• Manage patient care acrossinpatient consultative services and outpatient clinics
• Collaborate withOB/GYN providers behavioral health teams and other specialists
• Participate inteaching medical students residents and/or fellows
• Engage inclinical program development quality improvement and/or research initiatives
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory ethical and organizational standards
• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Completion ofresidency training in Psychiatry or Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Completion offellowship training in Perinatal or Reproductive Psychiatry(preferred/required depending on role)
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in relevant specialty
• Eligible for or able to obtainstate medical licensure
• Strong clinical communication and interpersonal skills
• Interest inacademic medicine teaching and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to work effectively within ateam-based care model
