Academic advisors across the Boston University colleges and schools engage in holistic academic advising that supports exploration and helps students realize academic career and life goals.

Boston University Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences has two positions for academic advisors. Sargent College is one of the countrys leading schools of health and rehabilitation sciences. Home to more than 1300 undergraduate and 600 graduate students Sargent College combines outstanding faculty and cutting-edge research to provide superb education and clinical experiences. The college has more than 30 on-campus research facilities clinical centers and labs. It offers top-ranked degree programs in occupational therapy physical therapy speech language and hearing sciences health sciences human physiology and nutrition. The undergraduate advising team includes seven academic advisors and an Associate Director all of whom report to the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.

Required Skills

Bachelors degree or equivalent and 1-3 years relevant experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • Good judgement and the ability to handle confidential materials with discretion.
  • A collaborative work approach and the ability to work well with students faculty and staff with diverse identities and from a range of backgrounds.
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to use systems such as Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and Zoom in the work environment and willingness to learn new software systems.
