9-12 English Teacher

• Hold a Massachusetts 912 English Language Arts Teaching License Required
• Hold a Bachelors Degree
• Have experience teaching in a high school setting (preferred)
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Have experience with CommonLit or similar standards-aligned ELA curriculum (preferred)
• Hold an unwavering belief that every student can grow and succeed

Professional Responsibilities Include:

• Teach high school English Language Arts courses with a focus on developing students reading writing speaking listening critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Implement CommonLit as the primary ELA curriculum while adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs interests and learning styles of students.
• Develop and implement engaging standards-aligned lessons that promote meaningful reading writing discussion and student thinking.
• Teach students to analyze complex texts develop evidence-based ideas and communicate their thinking effectively in both written and verbal formats.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies including differentiated instruction to support a range of learners and provide appropriate levels of challenge and support.
• Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and use student work and data to inform instruction and provide targeted support.
• Establish and maintain a positive inclusive and structured classroom environment that promotes student engagement accountability and a love of learning.
• Provide extra help and academic support to students as needed including during designated support periods or after school.
• Collaborate with other ELA teachers special education staff instructional support staff and related service providers to support student success.
• Participate in team meetings data meetings curriculum development work and cross-content collaboration.
• Contribute to the continued development and implementation of the schools ELA curriculum and instructional practices.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress concerns and achievements.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance grades and academic progress.
• Integrate technology effectively to enhance reading writing communication and student learning.
• Participate in assigned duties per the contract.
• Attend staff meetings professional development required training and other meetings during the course of the school year.
• Engage in ongoing professional growth collaboration and reflective practice.
• Support school-wide instructional initiatives and contribute to a positive school culture.
• Perform other duties as requested by administration.
• Salary range: $52803-$91482 dependent upon education and experience.
