5th Grade Math Teacher
Reports To

Position Summary
The 5th Grade Math Teacher is responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes student growth and achievement in mathematics. The teacher will develop lesson plans aligned with state standards use effective instructional strategies assess student progress and foster strong relationships with students parents and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver daily math instruction aligned with state curriculum standards
- Create engaging lessons that support a variety of learning styles and abilities
- Use data-driven instruction to monitor and improve student achievement
- Maintain accurate records of grades attendance and student progress
- Implement classroom management procedures that create a safe and respectful learning environment
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners including students requiring intervention or enrichment
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities
- Collaborate with grade-level teams instructional coaches and administrators
- Participate in faculty meetings professional development and school events
- Integrate technology and hands-on learning opportunities into instruction
- Prepare students for district and state assessments
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students and school matters
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid teaching certification/license appropriate for elementary education
- Certification in mathematics preferred
- Knowledge of elementary math curriculum and instructional best practices
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students staff and families
Preferred Skills
- Experience teaching upper elementary mathematics
- Familiarity with curriculum planning and assessment tools
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
