Caterpillar is seeking a Fabrication Production Manager in Athens this role you will oversee and coordinate the activities of a more complex production line prepares schedules resolves issues and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards.

What you can look forward to in this role:

  • Run a small business unit for People Quality Velocity and Cost

  • Monitors and improves shop floor safety aggressively eliminates unsafe processes

  • Assures fixtures tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules

  • Determines priorities and sequences jobs

  • Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources and adjusts staffing to meet flow and customer requirements

  • Determines and executes disciplinary action when appropriate

  • Procures and distributes production material to meet schedules

  • Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule

  • Implements Lean Manufacturing 6 Sigma Internal Certification and others

  • Evaluates assess identifies and leads the deployment of workforce training

  • Practices and teaches CPS Guiding Principles

  • Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members

  • Drives root cause corrective action projects and drives continuous improvement

  • Leads section status reporting and monitors / audits section metrics

  • Leads the creation implementation and training of standard work procedures

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organizations performance management system practices and tools to developing and improving individual team and organizational performance.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches tools techniques for recognizing anticipating and resolving organizational operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

  • 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing related field

  • Experience in multiple manufacturing support disciplines.

  • Experience managing teams to production budgetary and efficiency targets.

Summary Pay Range:

$81370.00 - $122060.00
