340b Billing Clerk

Position Summary

Rome Health is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Billing Clerk to join our Revenue Cycle team. This full-time position is responsible for the accurate and timely review validation and submission of insurance claims as well as denial management account follow-up and credit balance resolution. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills medical billing experience and a commitment to maintaining current knowledge of payer requirements and regulatory compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review validate and submit insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
• Identify correct and resubmit rejected or denied claims in a timely manner.
• Review electronic billing system edits and claim errors daily to ensure prompt resolution.
• Conduct routine account follow-up and manage work queues ticklers and outstanding balances.
• Perform timely Accounts Receivable follow-up to facilitate reimbursement and reduce aging balances.
• Review and resolve credit balances according to established policies and procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of payer guidelines billing regulations and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary documentation and resolve billing issues.
• Provide excellent customer service when responding to billing-related inquiries.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous medical billing experience required.
• Experience working with insurance claims denials and payer follow-up preferred.

• Proficient typing and computer skills.
• Effective communication and customer service abilities.
