3-Bus Attendants

FLSA:NON-EXEMPT

QUALIFICATIONS:

• As set forth in Rapides Parish Standards
• Be at least 20 years of age

REPORTS TO:

Supervisor of Transportation

SUPERVISES:

Students

JOB GOAL:

To assist the bus operator to provide a safe comfortable rideforhandicapped students.

TERM:

Nine (9) months

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Be on the school bus at all times during the bus route except as authorized by the Transportation Department

1. Occupy a seat on the bus where student riders can easily be assisted

1. Ensure that required protective safety devices are in use and are fastened properly. (In instances when an attendant is not available this shall be the responsibility of the bus driver)

1. Assist such students on and off the bus at school at designated bus stops and otherwise when it is necessary for their safe entrance and exit from the bus. (Attendants and drivers are not responsible for bringing students to or from the home bus stop or to loading areas at school)

1. Establish proper techniques and follow discipline procedures as established by the Rapides Parish School Board
