We are currently seeking highly-skilled Machinists to work in our manual machining department. Will need to be proficient in setting up and operating knee mills and engine lathes.

Manual Machinist
We are currently seeking highly-skilled Machinists to work in our manual machining department. Will need to be proficient in setting up and operating knee mills and engine lathes.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Conceptual Skills Process Improvement Verbal Communication Functional and Technical SkillsControls and Instrumentation Supply Management Tooling Coordination Inventory Control Attention to Detail Good Judgment.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints and creating a plan to machine a part to specifications with little to no instruction.
- Ability to document the process used to manufacture the part to simplify future set-ups.
- Should be mechanically inclined and have the ability to troubleshoot and think on your feet.
- Must be able to use sine bars offset boring heads boring bars and other cutting tools to produce tight tolerance features.
- Minimum 5 years experience with manual mills lathes etc.
- Must be able to communicate with other shifts and work well in a team environment.
- Jig grinding honing and broaching experience is helpful.
- Knowledge of basic shop math and trigonometry.
Duties:
- Plans machining by studying work orders blueprints engineering plans materials specificationsorthographic drawings reference planes locations of surfaces and machining.
- parameters;interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks tools attachmentscollets bushings cams gears stops and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions first-run part and sample workpieces adhering tointernational standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling grooving and cutting including turning facing knurlingand thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshootingprocesses; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering toquality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to 5S 1 safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements following manufacturersinstructions troubleshooting malfunctions calling for repairs.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions irregularitiesand continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
