Qualifications Preferred:
1. Reading endorsement or equivalent coursework.
2. Evidence of previous successful teaching experience English Language Arts at the middle level.
3. Evidence of proven experience usingGLAD strategies.
4. Evidence of successful experience working as a member of a professional learning community.
5. Experience in creating and analyzing assessments to determine effectiveness of instruction.
6. Skills at organizing an appropriate behavior management system to prompt a positive learning environment.
7. Willingness to adopt MTSS strategies as a foundation for classroom management.
8. Punctual and consistent attendance.
9. Experience identifying and implementing essential standards.
10. Experience in working successfully with at risk students.
11. Evidence of successful communication with staff students and parents.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Design and provide instruction to meet the individual needs of students.
2. Design and provide instruction using district-adopted materials.
3. Modify / scaffold lessons for students at all ability levels.
4. Work effectively as a member of a professional learning community and demonstrate leadership skills through active participation in program building and District staff training.
5. Communicate student performance results behavior concerns academic progress etc. regularly with parents administration and team members.
6. Establish and maintain standards of student/classroom behavior to provide a supportive and productive learning environment.
7. Demonstrate classroom management skills that allow for a safe and productive learning environment.
8. Collaboratively prepare and support grade level and school programs and events.
9. Collaboratively support students for district or community wide events.
10. Work with staff in supporting and enhancing classroom activities.
11. Work cooperatively with other staff to maintain a positive disciplined educationally sound learning environment for students.
12. Other duties as assigned

Physical Hazards:While performing the duties of this job the employeemust beable to work outdoors ina wide variety oftemperatures; from -10 degrees F to 100 degrees F . The employeemay beexposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in this work environment is moderate.
Application Procedure: In-District staffmust complete an internal online application by10:00 p.m. (PST) on or before the closing date.In-building/In-district staff will have eight school days or eight working days during the summer to apply for a vacantpositionthrough the online application system. The employee may choose butwill not berequired to meet with the building administrator to understand the building practicesproceduresand initiatives specific to thepositionto which they are applying. After eight days if an in-building employeeis qualifiedfor theposition the principal will offer the employee the case that more than one in-building employeeis interestedin aposition thepositionwill be offeredto the qualified and senior employee. If apositionis not filled in-building after theeight dayperiod thepositionwill be offeredto the qualified most senior in-district applicant if any. Teachers with asummativeevaluation score of 1 or 2 are not eligible to transfer unless agreed upon by the District and Association.
Out-of-District applicantsmust complete the online District application and attach a letter of interest resume valid Washington state teaching credential and copies of transcripts with degree posted. All hires are subject to completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.
