The Future Talent Program features Cooperative (Co-op) education that lasts up to 6 months and will include one or more opportunities in our Research and Development Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

Position Description

TheAffinity Selections Team is seeking a co-op interested in using DNA-encoded library (DEL) technology to accelerate early drug discovery.

The co-op will learn how to apply a suite of complementary modern capabilities to problem solve in support of our small molecule pipeline. Specifically you will:

• Use biochemical and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques to develop new DEL selection methodologies.

• Screen proteins of interest for small molecule binders using DEL technology.

• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to gain insight into DEL technology and early drug discovery processes.

• Learn industry-standard laboratory practices including rigorous experimental documentation.

• Develop strong communication skills by presenting findings in oral and written formats to the department. Potential pathway to co-authorship on scientific publications and presentations.

We are seeking candidates with excellent academic performance communication skills teamwork and the ability to work in a multi-functional environment.

Education Minimum Requirement:

• Current enrollment in . . or Ph.D. program in biochemistry chemical biology biophysics chemistry or related disciplines.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Foundation in standard biochemical techniques.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Greater than 3 months of continuous hands-on experience working in a scientific lab performing biochemical and molecular biology experiments (e.g. gel electrophoresis PCR).

• High motivation to tackle affinity selection challenges and design new assays.
