Rotational Program - Insurance Solutions & New Markets
Rotational Associates can expect to complete three 8-month rotational assignments within key areas of our Product and Business Development organizations such as Retirement Products Product Development and Innovation Business Strategy and Operations and Business Development and Product Implementation.
Associates will build cross-functional proficiency by learning the techniques skills and processes that deliver the highest quality results. Each rotation is designed to improve business acumen and build an overall understanding of TIAAs enterprise strategy. Rotation assignments are determined by a combination of business needs skills and experience and the associates desired career path.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Gains knowledge across various business functions of Product and Business Development organization to help inform career trajectory.
- Support a variety of projects by leveraging project management tools and processes to ensure seamless information flow across teams
- Assists in preparing information and research materials by leveraging Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Complete required in-person virtual and on-demand trainings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to help deliver on product or solution strategy
- Conduct meetings with subject matter experts to understand product offerings lifecycles features and benefits
- Utilizes academic knowledge skills and experience to apply tactics and strategies to solve real business challenges.

- Background or coursework in financial services business economics or a related field
- Demonstrated curiosity drive and an entrepreneurial mindset
- Interest in insurance retirement products business strategy or product management
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or better
What Youll Experience
Rotation 1 Product & Business Foundation (8 months) Get grounded in the core of IS&NM. Youll build foundational knowledge of TIAAs flagship fixed and variable annuity products including TIAA Traditional our flagship guaranteed annuity and CREF our suite of variable annuities before expanding your exposure across the broader insurance and retirement product landscape. Youll support product management activities contribute to business planning processes apply foundational project management skills to help coordinate workstreams and track deliverables and begin building the cross-functional relationships that will define your career at TIAA.
Rotation 2 Growth (8 months) Go deeper. In this rotation youll contribute to new product development innovation and incubation efforts or support business strategy and operational effectiveness initiatives that drive enterprise execution. Youll apply the foundation youve built to tackle more complex ambiguous challenges manage assigned workstreams with increasing independence and begin translating insights into actionable recommendations.
Specific rotation areas may include: Retirement Product Product Development & Innovation Business Development and Product Implementation and Chief Administrative Office. Product exposure across rotations spans TIAAs full suite including TIAA Traditional Secure Income Account (SIA) Guaranteed Fixed Account (GFA) TIAA Stable Value CREF Real Estate Account (REA) Individual Retirement Accounts RetirePlus and In-plan Managed Accounts. Assignments are tailored to business needs and associate development goals.
Rotation 3 Impact (8 months) Put it all together. In your final rotation youll support the development of strategic partnerships and business opportunities in the Corporate Retirement market or contribute to third-party implementation efforts that bring TIAAs products and solutions to life for clients and plan sponsors. Youll lead workstreams apply end-to-end project management practices present findings and prepare for a full-time role within the organization.

Base Pay Range: $28.22/hr - $35.53/hrActual base salary may vary based upon but not limited to relevant experience time in role base salary of internal peers prior performance business sector and geographic addition to base salary the competitive compensation package may include depending on the role participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example annual discretionary incentive programs non-annual sales incentive plans or other non-annual incentive plans).
