Job Summary

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To provide classified and limited plumbing work for district-owned property. To help maintain the physical school plans in the condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners- Journeyman Plumber License required

High School Diploma or GED preferred

Clear driving record required

Valid Texas drivers Class C license required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledgeable with the International Plumbing Code Book rules and regulations

Must be able to read architecture and/or engineering plans and specifications

Experience:

Three (3) years of experience in related field required

Auxiliary Pay Structure: Pay Grade8

Pay Date: Monthly

Hourly Pay Range:

Minimum: $20.75

Midpoint: $24.69

Maximum: $28.63

Note:Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each persons job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Repair and maintain all plumbing equipment and plumbing services.

2. Inspect and repair lawn sprinkler systems district-wide.

3. Perform all tasks in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements.

4. Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments relocation or replacement.

5. Comply with safety and hazardous laws and regulations in the performance of his/her job.

6. Assist in examining school district facilities on a regular basis for the purpose of preventative maintenance.

7. Attend meetings and trainings as required or directed by supervisors.

8. Attend trainings as required to maintain Journeyman status.

9. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.

10. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).
